The role

We are a dedicated team of 18 skilled engineers and experts, strategically based in Oslo and Stockholm. Our Database team takes immense pride in providing top-notch database management services, and we are driven by our commitment to excellence and thrive on tackling challenges.

Our team is known for its proactive approach to embracing innovative technologies, ensuring that we stay at the forefront of our industry. We are deeply engaged in collaborating with customer teams, serving as trusted experts and advisors. As part of the Local Cloud delivery and the Infrastructure & Platform Services (IPS) unit, we play a vital role in delivering essential infrastructure services across multiple locations, for multiple customers.

Joining us as Head of Database means becoming a pivotal part of Orange Business Nordics' technology-driven initiatives. You will lead daily operations, guide product development, and strike a balance between strategic direction and task prioritization. Your role will be instrumental in initiating and driving change, motivating the team, and contributing to the continuous improvement and development of the business strategy. preserving our service-oriented culture for both internal and external customers

You will:

• Lead and motivate a team of tech leaders and database specialists
• Drive change and innovation within the Database team
• Collaborate with IPS management to shape our business strategy
• Optimize workflows and maintain a positive work environment
• Oversee financial planning and cost management. As well as cooperate with the licensing department, review operating costs, Service Catalogue, and relevant investments
• Ensure compliance with security standards and regulations
• Delegate responsibilities to technical team leaders for daily operations, lifecycle management, and continuous improvement
  
  

You have:

• Proven leadership skills - such as leading technical teams, working as a project manager, teamlead etc.
• Financial planning and budgeting experience
• Compliance and process management knowledge
• Experience demonstrating inherent leadership qualities, including a willingness to learn from your teams and peers while maintaining humility in any situation.
• A technical background with an ability to pose the right questions both to your internal and external customers
• Emphasizing delegation; you should be adept at formulating tasks and objectives for the team, with a primary focus on effective follow-up
• Excellent communication skills in English
